Australia - English Summary

G'day from down under!

Australia kept his promise to be an amazing place to visit. The Trip started in Manly Beach, Sydney where we met with great people to exchange news from around the world and Claude got the chance to go surfing.
Melbourne was our next destination where we met an old friend from Lausanne. We spent the weekend with them visiting the CBD (City Business District) and the Yarra Valley for a nice wine tasting around 11h00 in the morning...Never too early for that:)
For the following 11 days we rented a car to visit parts of Victoria state. We went first down to the Wilson Promotory National Park to see Kangaroos, wildlife and beautiful sceneries. Afterwards we drove along the coastline to Cape Schanck Lighthouse before spending the night in Phillip Island. Watching the Penguin parade was fun but a real turist attraction...(The weekend took place the Australian MotoGP in Phillip Island, Casey Stoner as the winner)
Our next stop was Torquay, well known for its famous surf spots. Bells beach attracts every Easter the best surfers around the world to compete.
The first part of the great ocean road is mainly driving through small towns. Anglesea, Lorne, Apollo Bay to mention a few. The highlight was definitely to see the 12 apostles and Lord Arch Gorge. The ocean, the wind and powerful waves are the natures power who define this beautiful scenery.

Back in Melbourne for the weekend we visited more of Melbourne with our friends. Biking along the Yarra River all the way to the Rod Laver Tennis Arena(goes through Melbourne) makes you feel being far away from the city. Suburbs like St Kilda give you a beach feeling where Carlton is the little italy and Fitzroy the alternative ambiance.

But as you know time flies and we already arrived today in Christchurch, New Zealand.

We look forward to share with you more adventures from New Zealand.

Cheers,
Nath & Claude
