Verbier, Switzerland Snow Report

It feels a bit strange to call it the Snow Report these days but I remain confident that the snow is still about to come;-)

Right now its -5C degrees in the Village and the temperatures will rise significantly during the day. We expect sunny weather for the day and temperatures going up to about 4C degrees by noon at 2000 m.

The Avalanche danger for today is moderate (Level 2/5)

Every time we drive to Verbier we are amazed by the beauty of the Dents du Midi. The famous teeth stand out proud and very visible. Today with great satisfaction we accomplished the tour (about 39 km) and the conditions could not have been better. 

Chaque fois que nous montons à Verbier nous sommes surpris par la beauté des Dents du Midi. Les dents se découpent dans le ciel et sont visibles de loin. Aujourd'hui, avec une grande satisfaction nous avons accompli le tour de ce massif (environ 39 km) dans des conditions magnifiques.

Jedesmal auf dem Weg nach Verbier sind wir erstaunt über die Schönheit der Dents du Midi. Die Zacken stechen richtig heraus und sind nicht zu übersehen. Heute, mit einer grossen Genugtuung haben wir die Tour bei grossartigen Bedingugnen bewältigt. (Ungefähr 39 km)

Nathalie called me up this week to ask "Are you ready to be a wedding model?" I thought; "Stop joking Nathalie". Off we were to Interlaken, with our friend and wedding photographer Colette, for a promo video shooting with celebrity photojournalist Bob & Dawn Davis. Bob & Dawn Davis Photography and Design specializes in wedding photojournalism. They are based in Chicago and travel worldwide. Anton Lorimer, 2007 Videographer of the Year, completed the professional team to get started with the engagement session before the wedding shooting.

Nous voilà mariés...

Comme promis, nous sommes de retour...mariés!
Nous avons vécu un week-end très intense au niveau des émotions. Le mariage civil au Château de Nyon a eu lieu vendredi 9 octobre par une belle journée d'automne. Nous avons du attendre notre tour, car les mariages sont un peu célébrés à la chaîne, mais la petite cérémonie était très bien avec des textes et poèmes lus par la célébrante de l'état civil. Mains moites, gorge serrée et larmes dans les yeux pour Christel, Raphaël, Claude et Nathalie ainsi que pour la famille présente. Après les articles de lois et les signatures du registre...place a un peu de champagne et un buffet campagnard à Gland. Comme la fête est pour le lendemain nous restons sage le vendredi et tout le monde est au lit tôt pour être en forme pour le grand jour!!!
Samedi 10 octobre débute pour Nathalie à 5h du matin...incapable de dormir! La pression monte! La cérémonie à l'église est belle, tout le monde est ému, nous les premiers. Quand Nathalie entre dans l'église avec son père et rejoint Claude, il a les yeux tout rouges...il faut que ça commence!!!
La suite de la journée se passe à merveille, petite séance photo au Château de Nyon, cortège pour rejoindre Coppet avec la petite coccinelle rouge décapotable et apéritif dans la serre du Château de Coppet. Nous avons droit à deux magnifiques surprises. Un lacher de ballons rouge et blanc avec des petites allumettes de Bengales accrochées aux ficelles et un chemin de bougies pour l'entrée dans les Caves pour le repas. Slide show photos des familles Oggier et Chevallay ainsi que de Christel animent le repas. La suite de la soirée se passera sur la piste de danse avec la première danse des mariés sur la musique de Dirty Dancing "I've had the time of my life". Une chorégraphie adaptée à notre niveau qui a mis l'ambiance et qui a entrainé les gens a danser jusqu'à 3h du matin. Merci à tout le monde d'être venu fêter notre mariage, de nous avoir aidé et d'avoir pensé à nous durant cette journée MA-GNI-FIQUE et inoubliable!

Ces dernières semaines ont été bien occupées par l'organisation des derniers détails du mariage. On ressent une bonne fatigue et attendons le jour J en espérant qu'il ne passe pas trop vite, mais ça on en doute fort!!
Samedi passé, j'ai eu la chance de passer la journée avec mes copines pour mon enterrement de vie de jeune fille...ou bachelorette party qui est quand même plus agréable comme expression. Petit déjeuner à Nyon puis cours de cuisine aux Katrépices à Genève...super idée que de passer 1 heure à cuisiner tout en sirotant un petit verre de rosé! Calamare et crevette au menu avec poireau et poivrons dans une sauce au pastis et à la soupe de poisson. Bonne dégustation par la suite! Nous allons ensuite au Parc Aventure du Signal de Bougy, où j'ai droit à un déguisement. Je joue le jeu et enfile un collant rayé rose et blanc et un t-shirt sur lequel elles ont mis 118 et 218. (publicité bien connue). Malheureusement nous trainons un peu sur le parking et arrivons 5 minutes trop tard. Ils n'avaient pas précisé que les caisses fermaient à 16h!!! Gros forcing, mais ça ne donne rien, ils ne nous acceptent pas!!! Suite du programme, apéro chez Emilie et souper au Poco Loco pour finir à la Cave du Bleu Lézard pour de bons souvenirs! Merci les Filles!!!
Pendant ce temps, Claude est resté au Tessin et en a profité pour faire du sport et être tranquille. :-)
